Johnius belangerii és una espècie de peix de la família dels esciènids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.

Morfologia

Alimentació

Menja invertebrats, especialment cucs bentònics.[4]

Depredadors

A la Xina és depredat per Paralichthys olivaceus[6] i Okamejei kenojei,[7] i a Sud-àfrica per Hydroprogne tschegrava.[8]

Hàbitat

És un peix de clima tropical i demersal que viu fins als 40 m de fondària.[4][9]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des del Golf Pèrsic[10] fins al Pakistan, l'Índia, Sri Lanka, les Índies Orientals i la Xina.[4][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38]

Ús comercial

Es comercialitza fresc i en salaó.[4]

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
