Polygala sanguinea (Blood Milkwort) is a species of annual herb in the family Polygalaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States and Canada. They have simple, broad leaves and samaras. Flowers are visited by Perilampus platigaster, Toxomerus geminatus, Mordellistena aspersa, and Meromyza americana. Individuals can grow to 1.5 m.
