There are several maori cod at Fly Point, and they hover nearby as you dive. Big and imposing, they are a feature of this dive site

The maori cod is more common in Qld waters; I've seen them as far south at Port Stephens before (where they are quite a feature at Fly Point). This one was sheltering in the wreck at Clifton Gardens
