Polygala leptosperma Chod. Mem. Soc. Phys Geneve 3 1(2) 2 : 17. 1893.
Suffrutescent at base, 12 cm. long, hirsute-tomentose above; leaves lanceolate to lancelinear, 1.5-2.2 cm. long, 7-9 mm. wide, acute, subtomentose-velutinous; flowers 6-7 mm. long; sepals lance-linear-subulate, setose-ciliate ; wings elliptic-lanceolate, subacute, subunguiculate, equaling keel, long-cilia te on margin and back; filaments pilose; capsule ovate-cuneate, broadest above base, narrowed gradually toward apex, hispid, deeply emarginate; aril small, capitelliform, the very narrow scarious crenate margin with very short upturned dorsal lobe and no lateral lobes.
Type locality: Oaxaca (state).
Distribution: Oaxaca.
