Viola scorpiuroides is a perennial, low shrublet that reaches up to 20-30 cm, sparsely covered with simple hairs and woody at the base. The young branches are reddish and herbaceous. The leaves are spathulate, almost glabrous, with acute apex and entire margins. The flowers are small (6-8 mm), fragrant, yellow with a violet throat, and a small spur. The fruit is a subglobose capsule, with ovoid, glabrous, and brownish seeds.
