Biology

Inhabits mountain streams of 300-500 m elevation 900-950 km upstream from the sea (Ref. 2847). Is an omnivorous egg layer, generally peaceful community fish which prefers the following aquarium conditions: pH=7.3, H=12, 23°C water temperature with rock, plant and driftwood cover (Ref. 6398).
