등목어목(Anabantiformes)은 조기어류 목의 하나이다. 버들붕어와 가물치 등의 물고기를 포함하고 있다. 이전에는 농어목에 속하는 등목어아목 (Anabantoidei)으로 분류했다. 2개 아목에 4개 과(등목어과, 헬로스토마과, 버들붕어과, 가물치과)로 분류하고 최소 207종을 포함시키지만[1] 일부 저자는 바디스과와 아시아낙엽고기과, 프리스톨렙피스과가 속한 아시아낙엽고기아목(Nandoidei)까지 포함하여 등목어목을 확장한다.[2]
