Proteaceae sunt familia plantarum florentium quae plerumque in hemisphaerio australi endemicae inveniuntur. Familiae sunt 83 genera et circa 1660 species descriptae.[2] Proteaceae cum Platanaceis et Nelumbonaceis una sunt ordo Proteales. Inter genera bene nota sunt Protea, Banksia, Embothrium, Grevillea, Hakea, Macadamia.
