Takifugu rubripes (Japanese Pufferfish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family puffers. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN. They are associated with freshwater habitat. Individuals can grow to 80 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on anal and dorsal fin swimming to move around.
