Description: Eye is relatively large, its lower edge well above a line from the tip of the snout to the middle of the caudal fin fork. Caudal fin is moderately forked and with blunt tips. Overall color is silvery white to grayish. The scales of the back and sides have a small brownish basal spot. Prominent black blotches are scattered mainly on the anterior half of the body. A very faint bar is sometimes present below the eye to the lower edge of the cheek. Fins are clear to reddish, the caudal fin sometimes dusky reddish-brown. Faint spots may be evident on the dorsal, caudal, and anal fins (Ref. 2295). Body depth 2.4-2.5 in SL (Ref. 90102).

描述

體延長而呈長橢圓形。吻尖。眼大,下緣不及吻端至尾叉中央部位的平行線。口端位;兩頜具犬齒及絨毛狀齒,後方側齒略呈臼齒狀,下頜犬齒向外;上頜骨上緣平滑。頰部具鱗4-5列;胸鰭基部內側不具鱗;側線鱗數49-50;側線上鱗列數4.5。背鰭單一,不具深刻,具硬棘X,軟條10;臀鰭硬棘III,軟條10;胸鰭軟條14;尾鰭分叉,兩葉先端圓。體一致為銀白色至灰,體背有時呈淡褐色;體側散在許多小褐色斑點,有時散在黑色斑駁;眼下方之頰部有時顯現一條褐色橫帶。各鰭透明至淡紅褐色。以前所記載之日本白鱲(/Gymnocranius japanicus/)為本種之同種異名。

棲地
