Macrognathus aculeatus és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels mastacembèlids.[5]

Descripció

  • Fa 38 cm de llargària màxima.
  • 14-20 espines i 52-56 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal.
  • 3 espines i 50-54 radis tous a l'aleta anal.
  • Absència d'aletes pèlviques.
  • Aleta caudal arrodonida.[6][7][8]

Depredadors

A la Xina és depredat per Siniperca chuatsi.[9][10]

Hàbitat

És un peix d'aigua dolça i salabrosa, bentopelàgic, potamòdrom[11] i de clima tropical (23 °C-28 °C).[6][12]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a Àsia: la Xina, Corea, Laos, Tailàndia, el Vietnam, Singapur, Taiwan, la península de Malacca, Indonèsia, Bangladesh i l'Índia.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37]

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.[6]
